Position: Handyperson

As a Handyperson at Vanmates, you will play a vital role in maintaining our sites and ensuring they meet the highest standards of excellence. Your responsibilities will include:

Facility Maintenance: Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs to keep our spaces in pristine condition.
Cleaning and Upkeep: Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris, empty trash cans, wash windows, walls, and ceilings, and clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.
Repairs and Maintenance: Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems. Contact tradespersons for major repairs and contractors for facility maintenance.
Appliance Maintenance: Perform minor repairs on appliances to ensure they are in working order.
Safety and Security: Conduct safety and security checks to maintain a secure environment for our clients and tenants.
Tenant Interaction: Show apartments and offices to prospective tenants and provide excellent customer service.
Supervision: Supervise other workers and ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards.
Heavy Lifting: Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as required.
General Maintenance: Perform other routine maintenance tasks, such as painting and drywall repair.
Landscaping: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens to enhance the beauty of our surroundings.
Weather Preparedness: Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas during winter.

Qualifications and Specialization:

Proven experience in facility maintenance, repairs, and general handyperson tasks.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to identify and address potential hazards.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Flexibility to work on a variety of tasks and projects.
Any specialized skills or certifications related to facility maintenance or repair work are a plus.
