Hotel Maintenance Worker (NOC 73201)

Location: Quality Inn & Suites, 45 Moak Crescent, Thompson, MB, R8N 2B8

• Salary $19.27 hourly (increments available as per service with the hotel), 40 hours per Week
• Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time
• Employment conditions: Must be available to work any shift including occasional Early Morning, Morning, Day, occasional Evening, Weekend & Holidays. Must be available for emergency calls.

Job Responsibilities
Equipment: Must have working knowledge of plumbing, painting, HVAC, electrical, and other general repair skills
Maintenance Responsibilities (Essential – 90% of Time)
• Maintain the basic upkeep of all rooms and common areas by ensuring all furniture, appliances and electrical equipment such as televisions, refrigerators, and light fixtures are in working order
• Ensure all paint and flooring meet company standards
• Repair or replace all PTAC systems such as individual air conditioning units as needed or get the contractor involved
• Clean and maintain the hotel’s exterior spaces such as the parking lot, swimming pool, landscaping, snow shovelling etc.
• Replacing batteries and servicing door locks.
Guest Service (Ongoing)
• Offer guests assistance whenever possible
• Responsible for resolving escalated customer relations issues
• Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services
• Must appropriately address guest requests to ensure customers are satisfied with the hotel’s services and accommodations
• Responsible for positively representing and promoting the property
• Ensure systems and procedures are in place and followed for guest safety and security
• Assist guests and staff with anything that they may need from a maintenance perspective
Other Duties as Assigned (10% of Time)
• Properly secure all tools, equipment, and supplies after use
• Report any major repair issues or request to the GM or AGM
• Perform other duties as they may be assigned by the management
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure, Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Weight handling Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
