Chefs (Thai Authentic Cuisine) – Now Hiring: 2 Experienced Chefs for Thai Authentic Cuisine

Jatujak Restaurant is seeking two experienced chefs specializing in authentic Thai cuisine. The successful candidates will join our dynamic team and help deliver high-quality traditional Thai dishes to our valued guests.

Location: 2386 Kingston Road, Scarborough, ON, M1N 1V2

Work Location: On-site

Vacancies: 2 positions available

Salary: $36.25 per hour / 80 hours bi-weekly

Terms of Employment: Permanent, full-time

Schedule: Evening, shift, flexible hours, night, to be determined, day, weekend; overtime available

Start Date: As soon as possible

Responsibilities

·       Estimate quantities and costs of supplies and food items.

·       Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.

·       Create and develop new recipes.

·       Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods, including for banquets and special events.

·       Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff (11-15 people).

·       Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.

·       Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.

·       Requisition food and kitchen supplies.

·       Lead and instruct sous-chefs, specialist chefs, and cooks.

Requirements

·       Languages: English

·       Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

·       Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years in Thai cuisine

·       Work setting: Restaurant (on-site only; no remote work)

·       Physically demanding, fast-paced environment; must be able to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads

·       Personal suitability: Leadership, dependability, initiative, organized, reliable, efficient interpersonal skills, and team player

Additional Information
