Responsibilities
Tasks
- Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate daily restaurant operations to ensure efficiency and profitability.
- Develop and manage budgets, including costs for food, ingredients, alcohol, kitchen, and cleaning supplies.
- Monitor revenues and implement strategies to boost profits.
- Determine types of services offered and establish operational procedures.
- Recruit, hire, and oversee staff, including conducting performance reviews and staff training.
- Set staff work schedules and supervise daily staff activities to maintain high performance standards.
- Control inventory and organize procurement of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Adjust menu items, food preparation methods, and pricing in accordance with budget and operational goals.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food handling regulations.
- Address and resolve customer complaints and provide excellent customer service.
- Plan and manage special events, catering arrangements, or banquets.
- Analyze financial reports, balance cash, and complete related accounting documentation.
- Negotiate with suppliers for the purchase of food and other supplies.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to company policies and operational standards.
Skills & requirements:
- Minimum 1 year recent supervisory or managerial experience in a fast-paced QSR/restaurant environment
- Proven experience with staff scheduling, training, inventory control and cash/POS procedures
- Knowledge of food safety and workplace health & safety practices
- Post-secondary diploma/certificate in business or hospitality an asset
- Availability to work, day/evening/weekend shifts as needed
