Requirements:
Completion of secondary school is required
Completion of a 3-year training program or course related to welding is an asset
1 year of relevant work experience is required.
Proficient hand-eye coordination
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Responsibilities:
Accurate understanding of blueprints and welding process specifications
Determine weldability of materials
Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
Perform welding-related fabrication and repairs on aluminum and metal components for glass installation projects
Use brazing and soldering equipment to bond metal parts and filling gaps
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover defects
Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat resistant gloves, protective shields, and safety shoes
