Chef de Cuisine – Liberty Entertainment Group
The Liberty Grand, one of Toronto’s most iconic and historic event venues, is seeking an experienced Chef de Cuisine to join our culinary team. Our establishment features three grand ballrooms inspired by early 1900’s elegance and a modern open-concept space, hosting weddings, galas, corporate events, and large-scale functions for up to 3,000 guests each year.
We are looking for a skilled culinary professional capable of leading high-volume kitchen operations while maintaining the exceptional quality and presentation expected in our authentically historic setting.
The Chef de cuisine will lead and oversee all culinary production, including:
Planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities of several restaurants/banquet halls.
Planning menus and ensuring all food meets established quality standards.
Supervising all kitchen staff, including sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs, and cooks.
Instructing cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
Preparing and cooking complete meals and specialty foods, with a focus on high-volume events such as banquets and special functions.
Creating new recipes and accommodating customers with food allergies or intolerances.
Estimating the amount and costs of supplies and food items, and maintaining records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience.
Certification: Cook Red Seal Certificate is required.
Cuisine Specialization: Italian cuisine.
Food Specialties: Must have experience with Bakery goods and desserts, Eggs and dairy, Fish and seafood, Meat, poultry and game, and Vegetables, fruits, nuts and mushrooms.

Payment: 36.50 CAD/hr
Type of employment : 30 - 40 hours, full-time, permanent
