Position: Home Child Care Provider
Location: Victoria, British Columbia
Wage: $20.13 per hour
Hours: 30–40 hours per week
Employment Type: Full‑time, Permanent
Start Date: As soon as possible
We are seeking a caring, responsible, and reliable Home Child Care Provider to support the daily needs of children in a private household. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children and creating a safe, nurturing environment. Experience is an asset but not required, as full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
• Supervise and care for children in the employer’s home
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals
• Organize activities such as games, crafts, and outings
• Assist children with personal hygiene and daily routines
• Maintain a safe and healthy home environment
• Tend to the emotional well‑being of children and support their social development
• Instruct children in personal habits such as cleanliness and proper manners
• Light housekeeping duties related to child care (e.g., cleaning play areas, washing bottles, tidying after meals)
• Accompany children to and from school, appointments, or activities as required
• Follow the household’s routines and expectations
• Perform other child‑related duties as needed
Requirements
• Completion of high school (preferred)
• Experience working with children is an asset but not required
• Ability to communicate in English
• Must be reliable, patient, and able to work independently
• Willingness to undergo training provided by the employer
• CPR/First Aid certification is an asset (or willingness to obtain)
