Our Genuine Jobs and Safe Applications Commitment
Every person using AllFirstNationsJobs.ca should be able to understand who is hiring, what work is offered, where it takes place, what it pays and how to apply. This commitment explains what we require from advertisers, what applicants should verify and how concerns can be reported.
Our standards are intended to reduce misleading or unsafe content. They do not replace an applicant's own research, guarantee an employer or job offer, or certify obligations imposed by an external authority.
Our public commitments
- Genuine vacancy — The named employer must have a current and authorized position to fill.
- Clear facts — The title, duties, wage, hours, location, requirements and application method must agree.
- Actual employer — A representative must identify the employer and have authority to advertise the position.
- No applicant fee — No person may charge someone to view, apply for or receive a job offer.
- Respect and privacy — Advertisements must avoid stereotypes, deceptive targeting and unnecessary requests for sensitive information.
- Current listing — Employers must update material facts and close filled, withdrawn or unavailable jobs.
- Report and review — Users may report a Job ID, and the platform may pause, investigate, correct or remove content.
Before an advertisement is published
The employer or authorized representative must provide enough information for a job seeker to evaluate the opportunity. Each advertisement should contain:
- the employer's genuine operating name and business address
- the public job title and number of vacancies
- the actual work location
- clear duties and level of responsibility
- full-time or part-time status and permanent, temporary or seasonal terms
- the wage or salary range, hours and applicable benefits
- language, education, experience, licence and certification requirements
- a working application method and employer contact information
- the publication and closing dates
Structured fields and the written description must agree. If the title, employer, location, wage, hours or duties conflict, the advertisement may be paused until corrected.
Employer identity and representative authorization
An advertisement must identify the employer that has the vacancy. Recruiters and other representatives may post only with the employer's authorization and must provide accurate employer, contact and work-location information.
A representative must not present itself as the employer, advertise a vacancy without authorization, charge an applicant or create the impression that AllFirstNationsJobs.ca or a government authority endorses the job.
No fees for applicants
Job seekers do not pay to search or apply through AllFirstNationsJobs.ca. An employer, representative or other person must not request payment for an interview, job offer, application, mandatory referral or access to a vacancy.
Requests for gift cards, cryptocurrency, e-transfers, advance equipment purchases or the return of money from a cheque are serious warning signs. Stop communicating and report the advertisement or message.
Respectful Indigenous hiring and personal information
Advertisements must use accurate and respectful language about First Nations, Métis and Inuit people. They must not rely on stereotypes, imitate cultural authority or make unsupported claims about cultural safety, Indigenous partnerships or community relationships.
An employer may invite voluntary Indigenous self-identification when the purpose is explained. Applicants should be told whether answering is optional, how the information will be used and who may access it. Identity information must not be collected for unrelated marketing or disclosed without an appropriate basis.
Applicants should not be asked to submit a status card, treaty card, Social Insurance Number, banking information or unrelated identity document during an initial application. If sensitive information is legitimately required later, the employer should use a secure process and explain why it is needed.
Applicant safety checklist
- Read the complete advertisement and confirm that the title, duties, wage and location are consistent.
- Research the employer through its official website and independently located contact information.
- Be cautious when an interview takes place only through text messages or an unfamiliar messaging application.
- Do not pay to apply, attend an interview, receive training or obtain a job offer.
- Do not deposit an unexpected cheque or send part of the money elsewhere.
- Do not provide passwords, banking details or sensitive identification during an initial application.
- Keep copies of the advertisement and relevant messages.
- Report suspicious activity using the Job ID and page link.
While an advertisement is live
Employers must keep the information accurate throughout publication. Material changes to the title, wage, work location, duties, hours or requirements must be updated promptly. A substantially different position should be published as a new advertisement.
Employers must close an advertisement when the position is filled, withdrawn or unavailable. Package duration represents the maximum publication period. It does not make an inactive job current.
Content that is not permitted
- a vacancy that does not exist or that the advertiser is not authorized to fill
- a copied employer identity or misleading company information
- conflicting or deliberately incomplete title, wage, duties, hours or location information
- payment requests connected to an application, interview or job offer
- offers involving cheque forwarding, money transfers, gift cards or cryptocurrency
- discriminatory, threatening, exploitative or stereotypical content
- collection of personal information unrelated to a genuine hiring purpose
- claims of government affiliation, approval or guaranteed acceptance
- advertisements used primarily to sell immigration, legal, training or other services to applicants
How to report a concern
Use the Report This Job link on the advertisement or contact the support team. Include the Job ID, page link, employer name, reason for concern and any non-sensitive supporting information. Do not send passwords, banking details or identity documents with a report.
Depending on the concern, AllFirstNationsJobs.ca may pause the advertisement, request information from the advertiser, correct a clear technical error, remove the content or restrict an account. The platform may preserve relevant records where reasonably required for safety, security, dispute handling or legal obligations.
A report does not guarantee a particular result. Privacy, safety and legal limits may prevent the platform from sharing details about an investigation or another user's account.
What platform review means
Employer or advertisement information may be reviewed under these standards. Review is intended to reduce misuse, but it is not an endorsement, background investigation or guarantee of an employer, workplace, advertisement or offer. Job seekers should research an employer independently and use their own judgment before applying or accepting work.
Independent platform notice
AllFirstNationsJobs.ca is an independent employment-advertising platform. It is not a government agency and does not provide legal, immigration or government-program advice. Publication does not certify that an employer has met an obligation imposed by another organization, law or program.
