Job Description
At Best Western, the role of a Hotel Food and Beverage Services Manager encompasses the overall leadership, coordination, and control of all food and beverage operations within the hotel, while ensuring compliance with Best Western brand standards and local regulations. The role includes the following responsibilities:
Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the daily operations of the hotel’s food and beverage outlets, including restaurant, bar, room service, and banquet services, to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery.
Coordinate with senior management in the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, and supervision of food and beverage staff, ensuring adequate staffing levels and adherence to company and brand standards.
Develop staff work schedules, assign duties, monitor employee performance, and provide coaching, feedback, and performance recommendations to improve service quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.
Supervise frontline operations to ensure consistent customer service, timely order fulfillment, and a positive dining experience for hotel guests and external patrons.
Oversee inventory management, including monitoring stock levels, verifying purchase orders, controlling food and beverage costs, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Monitor revenues, analyze sales trends, maintain statistical and financial records, and recommend or implement adjustments to procedures, menus, pricing, and cost-control measures to meet financial targets.
Prepare, review, and present daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports, revenue summaries, and operational performance reports to management, and assist in setting sales targets and budgets.
Balance cash registers and oversee the completion of balance sheets, cash reports, and related financial documentation in accordance with internal controls and accounting procedures.
Address customer complaints, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally, taking corrective action to maintain guest satisfaction and protect the hotel’s reputation.
Ensure full compliance with all applicable licensing requirements, food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and occupational health and safety guidelines at all times.
Implement and monitor health and safety procedures, including staff training on food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety, to minimize risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
Provide hands-on customer service support during peak periods or staff shortages to maintain service standards and operational continuity.
Continuously review operational processes and recommend improvements to enhance service efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
Requirements and Qualifications:
· High school education
· 1-2 years of experience is required of working in the relevant field, previous supervisory experience will be an asset
