Specific Skills
• Estimate labour requirements, material quantities, costs, and equipment needs based on project scope, and requisition or order materials and supplies accordingly
• Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of carpenters, apprentices, and labourers engaged.
• Provide guidance to workers on proper techniques, materials, and tools to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications
• Resolve work-related issues by adjusting methods, reallocating labour, or recommending corrective measures to improve productivity and workmanship
• Ensure proper setup, use, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and machinery required for carpentry operations
• Inspect ongoing and completed work using appropriate measuring and leveling standards to ensure compliance with safety regulations, and quality requirements
• Coordinate and supervise the installation
• Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to plan work layouts, determine dimensions, and establish methods and work schedules
• Prepare production reports, progress summaries, and material usage records for management and project tracking purposes
• Train, mentor, and oversee apprentices and new workers, and arrange additional training as required to meet operational and safety standards
• Enforce health and safety regulations at all work sites and promote safe work practices among crew members
• Recommend measures to improve productivity, workflow efficiency, and product quality based on site observations and project outcomes
• Participate in staffing activities including recommending personnel actions, assisting with recruitment, and evaluating worker performance
• Collaborate with other team members to coordinate work schedules and ensure timely project completion
