Job Summary
Nationwide Natural Foods is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join its warehouse operations team in Delta, BC. The primary responsibility of this role is to operate forklifts, including narrow aisle forklifts, to load, unload, move, stack, and organize products and materials within the warehouse. In addition to forklift operation, the role includes general material-handling duties such as order picking, packing, sorting, stocking, and inventory support in a fast-paced, cold/refrigerated warehouse environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Operate forklifts, including narrow aisle forklifts, safely and efficiently to load, unload, move, stack, and position products and materials within the warehouse.
Use forklift equipment to transfer goods between receiving, storage, staging, packing, and shipping areas.
Load and unload materials from pallets, racks, containers, and delivery vehicles using appropriate forklift equipment.
Ensure goods are moved, stacked, and stored properly to avoid damage, loss, or safety concerns.
Conduct routine pre-use inspections of forklift equipment and promptly report any operational, maintenance, or safety issues.
Follow all warehouse safety procedures and always follow forklift operating protocols.
Pick orders and transport products to the appropriate packing, staging, or dispatch areas.
Wrap, pack, sort, crate, stack, and organize goods as required for storage or shipment.
Assist with loading, unloading, and the movement of materials manually where required.
Support the organization and stock placement of inventory to maintain an orderly and accessible warehouse.
Assist with replenishing stock and properly placing goods in designated storage areas.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in the work area and assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
Work efficiently in a cold/refrigerated, noisy, and fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Employment Requirements
Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
Experience in forklift operation and warehouse material handling is an asset.
Valid Forklift Operator Certification required.
Ability to perform physically demanding work and handle heavy loads.
Ability to work in a cold/refrigerated warehouse environment.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
