Position: Nursery Labourer

Basic Requirements
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Prior nursery or horticultural experience is an asset
Language: English
Key Responsibilities
Prepare soil; plant bulbs, seeds, and cuttings; graft and bud plants; transplant seedlings and rooted cuttings
Assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and ornamental plants to maintain health and shape
Dig, cut, and transplant trees, shrubs, flowers, and plants, preparing them for sale
Monitor greenhouse and outdoor crops for healthy growth, identifying weed, insect, disease, and fertilizer issues
Spray trees, shrubs, flowers, and plants to prevent disease and pests (provincial chemical application licence may be required)
Position and regulate greenhouse and outdoor irrigation systems to water plants and fields
Operate garden tractors, irrigation pumps, and related equipment for fertilizing, cultivating, harvesting, and spraying
Maintain inventory of supplies and order materials as required
Clean and organize working areas, tools, and equipment
Provide gardening information to customers on plant care, tool use, and product application
Manage minor operational incidents and follow safety protocols for chemical and machinery use
Work Conditions
