Colonial Countertops Ltd., a family owned company specializing in fabricating and installing custom countertops, is looking for an experienced Tilesetter at Stone Tiles and Countertops Production and Installations Dept., located at 619 Alpha St.,Victoria, BC, V8Z 1B5, for a f-t perm. position. Mon-Fri, 40h/week, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Wage: $30/h.

Duties:
Cut, polish and install natural stone, slabs and tiles using hand and power cutting tools.
Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered.
Mix, apply and spread caulking, glue or other adhesives.
Perform all tiling & stone installation duties.
Read blueprints & drawings to calculate materials as needed on our machines.
Consult with management to plan and cut Granite, Quartz, Marble and other natural stones to the required size and set stones and install larger pieces as per client’s instructions.
Use and operate machines including blade or wire saws to cut blocks of stone to specified dimensions.
Operate machines to grind and polish surfaces of stone blocks, slabs and other stone products to specific shape and design and to produce a smooth finish.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge.
Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues as required.
Requires heavy duty lifting and physical strength.
Specific Skills and Experience requirements:
Education:
• Secondary/high school graduation required
Work Experience:
• Demonstrable experience in stone products, setting/ installation, some fabrication/manufacturing
• 1-2 years in the stone and tile installations is required
Language requirements:
• Spoken and written English required
