About the role
The Fish Place is a well‑established seafood restaurant in Fort McMurray, Alberta. We are seeking a full‑time Assistant Restaurant Manager to support daily operations, supervise staff, and help maintain high standards of food quality and customer service. This is a long‑term, permanent position.
Responsibilities
Assist in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating restaurant operations
Supervise, train, schedule, and support food service staff
Participate in hiring, onboarding, and staff performance management
Ensure excellent customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally
Monitor food quality, cleanliness, and safety standards
Assist with inventory control, ordering, and cost management
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Assist with cash handling, sales tracking, and daily reports
Requirements
Completion of secondary school (minimum)
Minimum 2 years of experience in the food service industry, including supervisory or leadership responsibilities
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Food Safety Certification is an asset
English proficiency (spoken and written)
Compensation & benefits
$30.00-36.00 per hour
