Tasks
Coordinate subcontractors activities
Evaluate daily operations
Plan and organize daily operations
Select trade subcontractors
Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates
Recruit, hire and supervise staff and/or volunteers
Hire and supervise activities of subcontractors
Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress
Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements
Establish and implement policies and procedures for quality control
Operate CADD and other computer software systems
Read blueprint, schemas and drawings
Plan and manage budgets
Direct the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions
Develop and implement quality control programs
Develop risk management plans
Oversee the analysis of data and information
Prepare reports
Lead constructability reviews focused on value, risk, and schedule
Ensure trade partners contribute to design details, sequencing, and logistics
Lead or support Last Planner System implementation
Manage constraint tracking and removal across all partners
Oversee model-based coordination with design and trade partners
Ensure constructability, clash resolution, and install sequencing are aligned
Coordinate design development milestones tied to fabrication readiness
Administer multi-party IPD agreements and governance structures
Track compliance with collaboration, behavior, and decision protocols
Maintain alignment between design intent and field reality
Coordinate rapid issue resolution without formal change orders where possible
Ensure field feedback loops inform ongoing design refinements
Work side-by-side with architects and engineers to resolve site-driven design issues in real time
Provide immediate field feedback to designers to inform design refinements and adjustments
Support rapid design decision-making aligned with IPD governance rather than formal RFIs
Coordinate early trade input into Revit models for means, methods, sequencing, and tolerances
Ensure trade coordination supports fabrication, installation planning, and logistics
