Job title: Telecommunications Line Installer (NOC 72204)
Wage: $30.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
· Install, maintain, and repair aerial and underground fibre optic, copper, and coaxial cables for residential services.
· Perform cable splicing, termination, and fault repairs to ensure network reliability.
· Inspect, test, and troubleshoot lines and related equipment.
· Replace defective cables, amplifiers, and other hardware as needed.
· Assist in the installation and removal of poles, towers, and support structures.
· Work safely at heights, in trenches, or crawl spaces, using required tools and equipment.
· Assess work assignments provided by dispatch and complete these projects within established time parameters and standards.
· Connect, disconnect and relocate cable outlets.
· Operating bucket Van when needed.
· Maintain accurate records of work performed and report to supervisors.
· Coordinate with team members to complete residential projects efficiently.
Qualifications:
· Completion of a telecommunications apprenticeship, or at least 3 years of related work experience with some industry training, or a college diploma in electronics or a related field
· Experience with fibre optic, copper, and coaxial cable installation and repair
· Able to work safely at heights, in confined spaces, and in all weather conditions
· Valid driver’s license, good teamwork skills, and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, especially during winter.
