We are seeking a permanent full‑time Child Caregiver to provide dedicated home care for our 10‑year‑old son at our residence in Mississauga, Ontario (Burnhamthorpe Rd. & Confederation Pkwy). You will be responsible for ensuring the child’s safety, well‑being, and daily routine in the parents’ absence, including supervision before and after school, assistance with homework, preparation of meals, and accompaniment to extracurricular activities. This position requires reliability, maturity, and genuine love for children.
Job Duties:
· Supervise and care for the child in the parents’ absence, ensuring his physical safety, emotional well‑being, and adherence to daily routines.
· Assist with morning routines, including waking the child, helping him get dressed appropriately for school and weather, preparing his school bag, and ensuring he leaves on time.
· Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks following any dietary needs, or parental instructions.
· Accompany and supervise the child to and from school, ensuring safe transportation and punctuality.
· Accompany the child to extracurricular activities, such as sports, or community programs, ensuring safety, supervision, and timely attendance.
· Support the child’s learning and academic development by assisting with homework and reinforcing positive study habits.
· Engage the child in age appropriate recreational and educational activities.
· Encourage and reinforce positive behaviour, manners, and personal responsibility, including hygiene routines, organization skills, respectful communication, and independence appropriate for his age.
· Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy home environment, ensuring all child‑accessible areas are tidy, organized, and free from hazards.
· Clean and organize the child’s bedroom and play areas, including tidying toys, organizing school materials, and ensuring the space remains child‑friendly and safe.
· Perform light housekeeping duties related such as laundry, changing bed linens, washing dishes after meals, and running small errands as required.
· Monitor the child’s physical, emotional, and social well‑being, identifying any concerns and reporting them promptly to the parents.
· Administer basic first aid for minor injuries and follow emergency procedures if needed.
· Ensure consistent supervision before and after school
· Assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents
Job Type: Permanent, full-time position.
Salary: $21 per hour for 40 hours per week.
Will be required to work in shifts from 7 am to 10 am and 3.00 pm to 8 pm.
Overtime: 1.5 times the wages after 44 hours per week.
Experience: 1-2 years of caregiving experience
Education: Secondary School.
Language requirement: English
