Work location: On site
Salary: $28 to $40 per hour (depending on service/experience)
Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time, 30 to 40 hours per week
Candidates must be available to work any assigned shift including Evening, Morning, Day, Weekends, and holidays.
Starts as soon as possible

Education: Completion of secondary school and related training courses or a vocational program
Experience: 1 year or more related experience.
On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Responsibilities and Tasks
· Repair, fabricate and reinforce damaged trailer frames, axles, suspension systems, and heavy truck body panels.
· Ensure that chassis, frames, and bodies meet strict road-safety standards.
· Operating manual or semi-automatic or fully automated welding equipment to weld steel and aluminum components and to repair metal parts.
· Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes, and follow instructions.
· Examine and test welded surfaces for defects, flaws, or non-compliance with commercial safety regulations.
· Operate and maintain hoisting/lifting devices, cranes, and ensuring welding machinery remains in safe, working condition.
· Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
· Operate metal shaping, straightening and bending and fabricating machines.
· Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal.
· Operate oxygen arc and other high tech metal cutting and gouging machines.
· Operate previously set-up brazing/welding machines to fill holes, indentations and seams of metal
· Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment.
· Assist other departments individuals such as mechanics, if and when necessary.
· Train and supervisor junior welding staff.
· Any other duties as per business needs.
