Salary: $62,600 annually / 36 hours per week
Terms of employment: Permanent, full-time employment

RESPONSIBILITIES
Tasks:
· Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment
· Repair cable signals
· Test trunking systems
· Test equipment to locate transmission faults
· Install trunking systems, circuits and equipment
· Determine nature, cause and location of trouble
· Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures
· Connect, disconnect and relocate cable outlets
· Install and configure cable modems and related software to enable Internet access
· Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems
· Repair or replace faulty cables, power supplies and amplifiers
· Splice, join and connect wires
· Ensure safety procedures are followed
· Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
· Complete work orders, test and maintenance reports
· Install and maintain aerial and underground fibre and cable equipment
· Travel directly to assigned job sites within the service territory using a reliable vehicle suitable for transporting a ladder, tools, and equipment. Required tools, ladders, safety equipment, and work equipment are supplied by the employer.
CREDENTIALS
Certificates, licences, memberships and courses
· Working at heights training is an asset
· CPR Certificate is an asset
· First Aid Certificate is an asset
· Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training an asset
EXPERIENCE AND SPECIALIZATION
Equipment and machinery experience
Familiarity with working with the following is an asset:
· Coaxial line
· Fibre optics
· Aerial and underground cable lines
· Amplifiers
· Cable outlets
· Telecommunications testing equipment
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Security and safety:
· Criminal record check
· Driver’s validity license check
Transportation/travel information:
· Valid G driver’s licence
· Willing to travel
· Travel expenses paid by employer, including approved
work-related travel and vehicle-use expenses reimbursed in accordance with employer policy.
· Willing to travel for extended periods
· Willing to travel throughout the assigned Northern Ontario service area
· Access to a reliable vehicle suitable for transporting a ladder, tools, and equipment is required
