Greenhouse / Nursery labourer

We are currently seeking to hire (2) Nursery/ Greenhouse workers
Benefit: 3 weeks annual vacation
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: 363 Governors Road East, Paris, ON N3L3E1 & 190 Norfolk County RD 19 E, Wilsonville, ON N0E 1Z0
Details of this position:
- Monday to Friday, with some weekend work during busy season
- Permanent, Full time
- 40 hours a week Minimum
- $21.20/hour

Requirements of this position:
- Assist with preparing planting areas and containers by loosening, amending, and conditioning soil to support healthy plant growth.
- Support the propagation of plants by placing seeds, bulbs, and cuttings into growing media and assisting with plant joining and transplanting activities as required.
- Observe crops and plants on a regular basis to identify signs of stress, pests, disease, or nutrient deficiencies and report concerns to supervisors.
- Apply approved plant protection treatments and fertilizers under supervision to support plant health and prevent pest or disease issues.
- Set up, adjust, and monitor irrigation systems in greenhouse and outdoor growing areas to ensure consistent and adequate watering.
- Assist with lifting, moving, pruning, and relocating trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plant materials for landscaping projects or retail preparation.
- Operate and maintain basic nursery and landscaping tools, equipment, and machinery, including tractors and powered equipment, following safety procedures.
- Help organize plant stock, supplies, and materials, and assist with inventory tracking and restocking as required.
- Maintain clean, safe, and orderly workspaces by removing debris, sanitizing tools, and following workplace health and safety standards.
What will you need?
• At least 2-3 years experience working in nursery/greenhouse labour experience;
• Forklift Certification preferred
• Work under pressure; Repetitive tasks;
• Handling heavy loads up to 50 pounds;
• Physically demanding;
• Hand-eye co-ordination;
• Standing for extended periods; Bending, crouching, kneeling
