We are currently looking to expand our team with a Ranch Hand, who will assist our other farm workers to raise cattle, help with feeding, breeding and harvesting, assist in maintenance and repair of the ranch, and is generally committed to the day-to-day operations of the ranch onsite. This position reports to the Ranch Manager.
Job Duties:
feed, tend to, handle and provide general care to our ranch animals
may assist with branding our ranch animals
may assist with breeding activities
assist with monitoring the health of our ranch animals
may prepare animals for transportation
perform maintenance and minor repair work on agricultural equipment, i.e. irrigation pipes
ensure all equipment is maintained with appropriate adjustments and lubrication an using proper tools
move wheel and/or hand irrigation lines on schedules as set out by the ranch manager
maintain a daily timesheet on activities and maintenance requirements
cut rails used for fencing/corrals with appropriate preparation work
report any tools or equipment that are not in good working order to the ranch manager
operate various farm equipment including, but not limited to a tractor, baler, swather, post pounder
operate equipment or tools in a safe manner in accordance with all established rules, regulations and plans
operate ranch/farm vehicles, trucks, quads etc. in a safe and responsible manner
other related duties as required
Job details:
this is a full-time, seasonal position (5 vacancies) for at least 30 to 40 hours per week
wage: $21.30/hour

Skills/education requirements:
successful completion of high school is preferred
must be able to work independently and within strict guidelines as set out by the Ranch Manager
must be able to:
operate various farm equipment including but not limited to the tractor, baler, swather, post pounder
operate equipment or tools in a safe manner in accordance with all established rules, regulations, and plans
operate ranch/farm vehicles, trucks, quads etc. in a safe and responsible manner
preferably in possession of a valid driver’s license
capacity to work NOT under the influence of alcohol, pharmaceutical and or narcotic substances which would impair your ability to work safely
must be physically able to lift posts for fencing, bales of have for stacking or move empty and /or wheel irrigation lines
must be able to understand and work with the gravity fed system and pump system
must be willing to work irregular hours as harvesting/weather conditions dictate
