Specialist Chef - Marine
We are looking for a well-experienced Specialist Chef - Marine for a well-known events and catering firm, Paramount Eventspace, located at 222 Rowntree Dairy Rd, Woodbridge, ON L4L 9T2 Canada.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and direct food preparation activities for premium catering events, including weddings, corporate functions, private events, social gatherings, waterfront events, yacht-style events, and marine-related catering services.
Develop customized menus for both standard event clients and marine/waterfront clients, including plated meals, buffet menus, cocktail receptions, hors d’oeuvres, BBQ menus, allergen-friendly options, family-style menus, and specialty menus suitable for off-site or vessel-adjacent service.
Prepare and cook specialty dishes, complete meals, appetizers, entrées, sauces, sides, and event-specific menu items while ensuring high standards of taste, presentation, portion control, consistency, and client satisfaction.
Plan and execute food production for marine and waterfront catering environments, including menus that can be safely prepared, packaged, transported, held, finished, and served at harbour venues, yacht-style events, waterfront locations, and mobile/off-site service settings.
Estimate food requirements, ingredient quantities, portion sizes, labour needs, production timelines, food costs, packaging needs, and service requirements for catering events and marine/waterfront catering contracts.
Supervise, train, coordinate, and direct cooks, kitchen helpers, food preparation staff, and event kitchen personnel to ensure timely production, proper cooking methods, food safety compliance, and quality control.
Coordinate with the management to ensure food preparation aligns with client requirements, event schedules, delivery timing, transportation conditions, marine/waterfront service limitations, and premium catering standards.
Prerequisites:
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience
Experience & Skills: 5 years of progressive culinary experience in cruise ship, yacht, marine hospitality, waterfront catering, or high-volume premium event catering environments
Language: English
Additional Knowledge of cuisines: Fish and seafood, Meat, poultry and game
Hourly Rate: $36.50- 37.50 per hour for 30 to 40 Hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
Benefits: 4 % Vacation Pay
