Rol-land Farms and Greenhouses Inc. is a longstanding family farming operation in Southwestern Ontario. With 10 acres of greenhouse in production for vegetable seedlings and 1700 acres of land in production of specialized crops
We are currently seeking to hire 2 General Farm worker - harvesting
Benefit: 2 weeks annual vacation
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: 9102 Bisnett Line, Blenheim, ON N0P 1A0
Details of this position:
Monday to Friday, with some weekend work during busy season
Permanent, Full time
40 hours a week Minimum
$19.18/hour

Requirements of this position:
· Prepare and irrigate soil
· Plant, fertilize, thin and harvest vegetables, storing of field on large and complex farm
· vegetable propagation - seeding, germination, growing and shipping;
· Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings
· Spray or dust plants with insecticides and fungicides
· Report signs of insect or disease damage
· Pot and re-pot plants, Plant bulbs and seeds
· Operate climate controls
· Pick row, Hoeing crops
· Sort, weigh and pack vegetables at the farm
· Load, unload and transfer crates, supplies, farm produce and products for transport
· Clean up racks, trays, and harvest bins and general cleanup of growing, producing and packing areas
· Assist with general farm maintenance and maintenance of equipment and tools
· Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
· May assist in preparing garden beds for planting
· May write daily progress reports of inventory harvested.
· assist with the adjustment or repair of farm equipment or machinery.

What will you need?
2-years experience in general farm work – harvesting
Work under pressure; Repetitive tasks;
Handling heavy loads up to 50 pounds;
Physically demanding;
Hand-eye co-ordination;
Standing for extended periods; Bending, crouching, kneeling
