Silver spoon Take out & Catering 816 Britannia Rd W Mississauga is seeking a reliable and skilled permanent full-time GENERAL BUILDING MAINTENANCE WORKER to support operations across their three locations - 816 Britannia Rd W Mississauga, 4099 Erin Mills Parkway Mississauga and 500 Laurier Avenue Milton. The role involves routine inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, and coordination with contractors to ensure all facilities remain safe, functional, and compliant at all times.
Job duties of this position:
· Conduct routine inspections across all locations to identify basic issues such as loose fixtures, water damage, adjustments to furniture or fixtures.
· Perform general repairs including drywall patching, tile replacement, leak repair, minor electrical fixes, and door adjustments.
· Maintain kitchen equipment, exhaust hoods, refrigeration units, lighting systems, Bain maries, washroom fixtures.
· Replace light bulbs, reset breakers when safe, and report larger electrical issues to licensed contractors.
· Unclog sinks, tighten faucet connections, replace washers, and address small leaks that do not require a licensed plumber.
· Clean filters, wipe down equipment panels, check for loose parts, and report major malfunctions to management.
· Ensure fire extinguishers are in place, emergency lights are functioning, and exit signs are visible;
· Clean ventilation grilles, check door seals, lubricate hinges, and perform simple upkeep to prevent wear and tear
· Perform simple preventive maintenance by cleaning filters, wiping ventilation grilles, lubricating hinges, tightening loose hardware, checking door seals, and addressing small issues early to keep the restaurant operating smoothly at all times.
· Monitor safety systems including emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, and exit signage.
· Coordinate with licensed contractors for specialized repairs.
· Maintain inventory of tools, materials, and replacement parts.
· Document maintenance activities, inspection results, and repair logs.
· Assist with minor renovations such as replacing tiling, countertop changes, painting
· Track basic supplies like bulbs, screws, filters, and cleaning materials; notify management when restocking is needed
Requirements
Secondary school completion.
Post‑secondary training in building maintenance or related field is an asset.
1–2 years of experience in building maintenance, general repair or facility support
Experience in a commercial or restaurant environment is an asset.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
Travel between restaurant locations required.
Must have own car and a valid driver's license
Wages: $37/hour for 35-40 hours per week. Overtime applies after 44 hours per week.
