Job Summary
VChhabra Enterprises is seeking a reliable and experienced Painter to perform professional interior and exterior painting, surface preparation, wall covering and finishing work at residential and commercial properties and other client locations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paints and decorative finishes, repairing minor surface defects, installing wall coverings and ensuring that completed work meets project specifications and quality standards.
The position requires frequent travel between work sites and may involve working outdoors, at heights and in environments where paint and other finishing materials produce odours.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Inspect interior and exterior surfaces and determine the appropriate preparation and finishing procedures.
-Prepare, clean, scrape, sand and prime surfaces before painting or applying other finishes.
-Repair cracks, holes, dents and other surface imperfections using appropriate patching and repair materials.
-Perform drywall taping, patching and surface preparation as required.
-Measure, cut and install wallpaper, fabric wall coverings and other decorative wall materials.
-Mix and match paints, stains and other finishing materials to achieve the required colour, texture and consistency.
-Apply paint, primer, stain, wallpaper and other finishing materials to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers and other appropriate application methods.
-Perform brush painting and roller painting while maintaining consistent coverage, texture and finish.
-Complete wood-finishing work, including staining and other appropriate finishing applications.
-Install and work from scaffolding, ladders and swing stages where required, following applicable workplace safety procedures.
-Attach and work with appropriate rigging and fall-protection equipment when performing work at heights.
-Protect floors, furniture, fixtures and other surfaces from paint, dust and finishing materials.
-Clean and maintain work areas, tools and equipment before, during and after completion of projects.
-Inspect completed work for coverage, colour consistency, defects and overall quality and correct deficiencies when required.
-Estimate quantities of paint, wallpaper, preparation materials and other supplies required for individual projects.
-Assist with estimating material requirements and project costs based on measurements, surface conditions and scope of work.
-Communicate with clients regarding colour selections, wall coverings, finishes and other project requirements.
-Advise clients on suitable colours, finishes, wall coverings and related decorative options based on the project requirements.
-Follow manufacturer instructions and workplace safety procedures when handling paints, coatings, solvents and other materials.
-Travel between various work locations as required and transport tools and materials necessary to complete assigned projects.
-Perform other related painting and decorating duties consistent with the occupation and the employee's training and experience.
