DSpot Desserts 2058 Ellesmere Road, Unit # 6, Scarborough is seeking a dedicated FOOD SERVICE MANAGER to oversee daily cafe operations, staff performance and ensure exceptional product quality, customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance. The manager will ensure smooth coordination between front‑of‑house and kitchen teams, uphold brand standards and maintain full compliance with all food safety and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Organize, coordinate, and supervise activities related to daily operations including production, customer service, and store workflow.
Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise employees; monitor performance and enforce company policies.
Maintain exceptional guest experience, address concerns, and implement service improvements.
Monitor product quality, portion control, presentation standards, and consistency across all menu items.
Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace regulations
Monitor stock levels, order supplies, manage waste, and maintain cost efficiency.
Oversee daily cash handling, sales reporting, cost control, and budgeting support.
Facilitate smooth communication and coordination between the kitchen and front‑of‑house teams to maintain smooth workflow and timely service.
Ensure consistency in dessert presentation, portioning, and product freshness.
Implement sanitation procedures and ensure compliance with provincial food safety regulations.
Assist with menu updates, seasonal items, and promotional dessert launches.
Maintain supplier relationships, verify deliveries, and ensure timely procurement of ingredients.
Identify workflow issues and implement solutions to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Prepare operational reports, maintain records and oversee cash handling procedures,
Implement workplace safety procedures, conduct regular inspections, and ensure staff adherence to safety protocols.
Uphold the company’s brand image, presentation standards, and operational consistency at all times.
Requirements
2–3 years experience in food service management
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience in fast‑paced restaurant or dessert café environments preferred.
Knowledge of dessert production or pastry operations is an asset.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Ability to stand for extended periods
Wages: $37/hour for a minimum of 30 hours per week.
Overtime: 1.5 times the wage after 44 hours per week.
Education: Completion of a college program in hospitality or food & beverage service management.
