TRUCK DRIVER SUPERVISOR

BJS Transport Ltd. 425 Gilbraltar Dr. Mississauga ON L5T 2S9   Mississauga Ontario is seeking a dedicated TRUCK DRIVER SUPERVISOR to oversee daily driver operations, ensure compliance with transportation regulations, and maintain efficient fleet performance. The supervisor will coordinate long‑haul and local drivers, monitor safety standards, and support dispatch operations to ensure timely and compliant delivery of freight across Canada and the United States.

Key Duties & Responsibilities of this position:

·        Supervise and coordinate the activities of truck drivers engaged in long‑haul and local freight transportation.

·        Plan, organize, and assign driver schedules to meet delivery timelines and operational needs.

·        Monitor driver performance, ensuring adherence to company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.

·        Review and verify ELD logs, trip reports, fuel receipts, border documents, and Hours‑of‑Service compliance.

·        Provide guidance and training to drivers on safe driving practices, cargo securement, cross‑border procedures, and equipment handling.

·        Resolve operational issues, including delays, route changes, breakdowns, and customer concerns.

·        Coordinate with dispatch, shippers, receivers, and customs officials to ensure smooth freight movement.

·        Inspect trucks and equipment to ensure proper maintenance and report mechanical issues to the maintenance team.

·        Ensure compliance with Transport Canada, DOT, and provincial regulations.

·        Prepare reports on driver performance, incidents, violations, and operational metrics.

·        Recommend improvements to fleet efficiency, safety procedures, and operational workflows.

·        Assist in recruitment and onboarding of new drivers when required.

Requirements

• Completion of secondary school

• 2-3 years experience as a driver or operator of motor transport or ground transit equipment 

·        Strong knowledge of ELD systems, Hours‑of‑Service rules, and cross‑border documentation.

·        Ability to supervise, train, and motivate drivers.

·        Excellent communication and organizational skills.

·        Ability to work in a fast‑paced, safety‑focused environment.

Wage: $38/hour

Hours of work: 40 hours per week

Overtime: 1.5 times the wage after 44 hours per week.
