The company operates trucks and specialized equipment to transport materials and support construction and infrastructure projects. Its operations also include hydro excavation, sewer inspection and cleaning, vacuum and jetting services, water hauling and other related services for commercial and municipal projects.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Keep track of fixed assets and calculate depreciation as required.
Estimate and keep records of truck repair costs and replacement parts when needed.
Plan and adjust driving routes according to road, traffic and weather conditions using GPS and other navigation equipment to help reduce fuel use and unnecessary emissions.
Load and unload goods and materials safely.
Obtain permits and other required documents for transporting cargo on international routes.
Operate straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials to different locations.
Regularly check the condition of the truck, including tires, lights, brakes, cold-storage units and other equipment.
Perform minor or emergency roadside repairs when required.
Complete pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections and ensure the vehicle is safe to operate.
Carry out basic preventive maintenance to help keep the truck in proper working condition.
Communicate with central dispatch and provide updates regarding trips, deliveries and road conditions.
Maintain records of cargo, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
