TROPICAL TREETS, 130 Bermondsey Road, North York Ontario M4A 1X a processor and distributor of fruit juices and beverages located in North York, Ontario, is seeking a qualified, motivated, and dependable PACKAGING SUPERVISOR to oversee its packaging operations and lead its packaging team. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring that all food and beverage products are packaged, labelled, handled, stored, and prepared for shipment in accordance with established production schedules, quality requirements, and food safety standards. We are looking for an individual with strong leadership and organizational skills who can effectively manage a team in a fast-paced food and beverage production environment while maintaining high standards of safety, sanitation, quality, and operational efficiency.
Job Duties of this position include:
· Supervise, coordinate and schedule the daily activities of employees engaged in packaging fruit juices, beverages, and related food products to ensure that production targets and delivery schedules are met.
· Prepare employee work schedules, assign duties, allocate personnel according to operational requirements, and coordinate staffing levels to maintain efficient packaging operations.
· Supervise packaging operations to ensure that products are filled, sealed, packaged, and labelled accurately and consistently in accordance with established quality specifications and company standards.
· Ensure accurate and timely completion of production records, packaging logs, product labels, inventory records, and shipping documentation to support product traceability and accountability.;
· Ensure that employees consistently follow established food safety programs, sanitation procedures, hygiene requirements, safe food-handling practices, and applicable regulatory standards throughout the packaging process.
· Promote a safe and healthy working environment by ensuring that employees follow workplace safety procedures, use equipment properly and maintain clean work areas.
· Conduct orientation, onboarding, and on-the-job training for new and existing employees on packaging procedures, equipment operation, food safety, quality standards, and workplace safety requirements
· Ensure that packaging supplies, labels, and finished products are properly identified, organized, stored, and readily accessible. Monitor inventory levels and report shortages.
· Identify and address day-to-day workflow challenges, employee concerns, packaging discrepancies, production delays, and other operational problems.
· Review packaging processes and work procedures, identify opportunities to reduce waste and downtime, and recommend measures to improve productivity
· Ensure that packaging stations, equipment, storage areas, and surrounding workspaces are maintained in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition in accordance with established housekeeping and sanitation procedures.
Required Experience & Skills:
· 1-2 years’ experience in food packaging, food processing, or food and beverage manufacturing environment.
· Demonstrated ability to supervise, coordinate, and motivate employees in a production or packaging environment.
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to resolve workplace issues professionally and effectively.
· Ability to maintain accurate records, complete production documentation, and prepare reports for management.
· Commitment to maintaining high standards of product quality, food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and employee accountability.
Job Type: This is a Permanent, full-time position.
Wage: $ 37 per hour for 35 to 40 hours per week.
Overtime: applies after 44 hours per week.
Language requirement: English
Education: Completion of secondary school.
