Job Opportunity – Kitchen Helper
Position: Kitchen Helper
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Wage: $18.25 per hour, 40 hours per week

Work Location: 667 Island Hwy East, Unit 3, Parksville, British Columbia V9P 1T6
Key Responsibilities
· Wash, peel, cut and prepare vegetables and fruits, other ingredients used in preparing burritos, tacos, quesadillas and bowls.
· Assist cooks and kitchen staff with basic food preparation and other routine kitchen tasks.
· Receive, unpack and store food supplies and ingredients in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and designated storage areas.
· Clean and sanitize kitchen work surfaces, preparation tables, cupboards, appliances, equipment and food storage areas.
· Remove kitchen garbage and waste, clean garbage containers and maintain cleanliness in kitchen area.
· Sweep, mop and clean kitchen floors to maintain a clean and sanitary working environment.
· Follow food safety, sanitation, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures.
Employment Requirements
§ No prior work experience is required; training will be provided.
§ No degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
§ Ability to communicate effectively in English.
§ Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
§ Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment and under pressure.
§ Ability to remain standing for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
§ Availability to work flexible shifts, including daytime, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
§ Ability to work in a hot and physically demanding kitchen environment.
