Ottawa Kabab is hiring an experienced Restaurant Manager to run the daily operations of our restaurant on Gladstone Avenue in Ottawa. The Restaurant Manager oversees the front and back of house, leads a team of 5 to 10 staff, and is responsible for budgets, costing, inventory, health and safety compliance, catering and events, and customer satisfaction.

Hours: 30 hours per week, morning and day shifts
Wage: $36.95 per hour

Main duties
Plan, organize and oversee the restaurant’s daily operations, and evaluate them regularly to make sure service is efficient and runs smoothly.
Develop and manage the restaurant budget, including the cost of food, ingredients, alcohol, kitchen supplies and cleaning supplies. Cost products and services, and adjust food preparation methods and menu prices to stay within budget.
Organize and maintain inventory, track stock levels and make sure the restaurant is properly supplied.
Supervise a team of 5 to 10 staff. Set work schedules, train new and existing employees, and monitor staff performance.
Make sure all health and safety regulations and food safety standards are followed at all times.
Provide a high standard of customer service, respond to customer complaints and concerns, and resolve issues professionally.
Negotiate with clients for catering services and use of the restaurant’s facilities, and plan and manage events.

Fast-paced environment and working under pressure. The work is physically demanding and repetitive and involves standing for extended periods, with a combination of sitting, standing and walking.
